China as World SuperPower

The title may be misleading. coz i’m not going to talk about the huge market in China.

Let me start form a conversation i had with mu.

Jac: Sigh. The world is collapsing. End times is here.

Mu: No. I think China will rise to world superpower before end times happen.

Jac: Why?

Mu: I just think so.

Jac: Actually yeah. i think so too.

Think about it. I feel that God’s a purposeful God. Everything in our lives are  made for a purpose, and we’re just simply wired differently, to fulfil the different calls God has for our lives. Same thing with China. The way China is wired is really to become a superpower. Big population, big demand, high competition, even the culture is made in such a way. In fact, when we look at their history, they have had so many opp to become one since a long time ago! Yet, political issues and all the rubbish came in. Fundamentally, i believe that’s the original purpose God has instilled for them.

Also, history told us how US rose to become the world’s superpower. It was in WWII rmb? when they became creditors to European countries. and that’s exactly how it is today. China is US’s creditor.

I really feel the paradigm shift. And this recession is a part of it all.

The preliminary theory we came up with was that after this recession, China will gain power over the world economy. then they will be open, and it will be a way for the gospel to enter. there will be a major revival, then end times.

Don’t miss the boat.. Spiritually, and financially. Start investing.

diversity.

it’s the first week, and i’m in my 4th class.. one more tonight and i’m done. still getting to know the class, the people.

this time back, i’m amazed at the diversity we have in the campus. in my strat class alone, we have people from the US, sweden, russia, israel, and many more. my prof himself was born in egypt. half the year 4s just came back from exchange too. and when we talk abt what we like to do, everyone just have so much to contribute! really interesting experiences too. i kinda thank God my life is not the regular go to school and church and go home and sleep and study life. but i havn’t realized this about smu. which is a very good thing! and i really believe all our different backgroudns will add on to amazing conversations and discussions in class from all the different viewpoints. i’m really looking froward to this semester.

Pre-flight to Beijing

I’m going to beijing!! i’m really really excited. overly excited in jocelin and zhenyi’s opinion, but angel seems to be able to understand my excitement (:

It’s my first time into the T3 lounge. i didn’t even know this thing called ‘the private room’ existed. surprised by the service and food they offer here!

it’s going to be a good flight and security is going to be extremely tight, because we found out from the waiter here, that the minister of defense will be sitting with us. he shud be on the 1st row.. (i’m on the 2nd).

i tot it’s a lousy and old flight.. but apparently not.

I really really had a wonderful time. felt so loved, so special. I really have a wonderful sister! She helped me organize everything, from booking of sampan, catering, programs, videos, invitations, she did everything! (: i really appreciate it! really! (:

(: and everyone who came! u really really made my day! i really appreciate all the presents and the xin yi put into buying/making them. i know it’s a little hard buying presents for me. i really love the golden mic especially! thanks!

Goodness & Greatness of God

how do we live our lives? We live in faith. Faith that we will obtain the promises of God? Yes but more than that. We have faith in God’s constant, good, great character. And through this faith we can believe of that ULTIMATE plan God has for mankind. This plan will be one that will shock all of us, make everyone simply can’t help but to bow down and worship Him. A plan that will show so much of His goodness & greatness and character. that at the end of the day, we know that He deserves all the praise and glory!

That’s why the Bible says we have the “HOPE” of our salvation. It’s hope! and this hope will not disappoint. this hope that what God has prepared for us is beyond any eye have seen, nor ears have heard, above and beyond what we all can imagine. So we trust that everything He allows us to go through is out of His love, justice and fairness.

Remember our plotting of graphs when we were doing math? With one point, we don’t know the gradient of the line, and we can’t draw the line. With two points, however, it is possible to draw a straight line across, and then project into the future. when we look at what happened in the past, we can project where it is going next.

Now, keeping this in mind, why did God create the earth? The universe is wonderful, earth is not the largest, most beautiful planet around. why did God choose the earth?

When a father is expecting his child, he prepares a home, a room for his child to stay when he’s born. likewise, the earth was created for us as a home. everything God created in universe has one central purpose: Man! only when God has set everything in place, everything in order, the light, the sea, the animals, then God created man. So we need to understand that we are indeed so special in God’s eyes!

And God creating man as the center of all His creation is the first point of our graph/line. the 2nd point, then, is the 1st coming of Jesus Christ! See, God created us as the center of His creation. We’re so valuable, that He had to send His Son to save us when we fall into sin. Looking at this 2nd point that God plotted, we can see that we have a great destiny! None of us really know where we are going. But there must be a reason why Jesus HAD to come to earth to save us! i believe there’s a greater destiny God has instilled for mankind.

so when we think of God’s fairness in that sense. let’s look at the bigger picture. Let’s not be caught up with the small things we have in life. when we say we live by faith, let’s live by the faith that trust in God’s character. Look at the kind of plan God has for all of us. Let’s not miss it for someting less!

It’s like a revelation to me. I began to see God’s character in a whole different light. It’s so liberating… I began to see God’s greatness and goodness and the wonderful plan He has for all of us. Isn’t it amazing? I don’t know what God has installed for us. That’s why the Bible says we live by faith not by sight right?

I turn 21 today..

Dot asked me how was my birthday. I told her, it’s a good normal day. if u know what i mean (:

i actually forgot about it.. till i receive messages wishing me birthdays.. and the first one came from daddy (:

one message particularly touched me.. i felt that’s the most sincere one. in fact, he made it clear (in his message) that his prayers for me are sincere.. i felt it and thanks!

Most of all… God gave me a wonderful present only He could today..

those of you who forgot… beware! rah!

Bali

Just came back from a very very last minute trip to bali. it’s really good! I’m really surprised by the weather there. the chill wind in place of the usual humid weather at the end of the year (when we usually go there). Didn’t really do the things we usually did though.. no water activities, no travelling to ubud just to eat ibu oka or bebek bengil.. a simple relaxed trip visiting all the different cliffs (: photos soon!
